LAVENDER BLAM
To make a salve, you first need to make a floral oil. I have used organic lavender and organic rose petals to make this.
Ingredients:
/4 cup organic lavender buds only
1/4 cup organic, unsprayed rose petals only.
1 1.4 cup of carrier oil, like olive, jojoba, almond
Break down the petals with a mortar and pestle. Fill a sterile jar with petal;s they should fill only half a jar so judge the size of the jar bearing this in mind, and then pour lightly warm oil and over the petals keeping them submerged.
Using a chopstick to push down (don’t use a spoon or anything metallic) sure no air bubbles remain. Use a natural waxed paper on top of jar, then seal with lid.
Roll the jar side to side careful to mix the petals with oil. I’d like to to set a positive intention while doing so, if its to calm anxiety and to be free of fear and envy, then so so now. Place the oil in dark colour jar if can can but if you can’t ensure the jar is kept i’m a dark place for up to 4 weeks. Every 1-3 days gently roll the jar in your hands to stir the contents and think again of your intention.
Decant the oil over a clean muslin cloth and into a clear decanting jar and then squeeze every drop of the oil. Transfer into a sterilised dark glass bottle and let is settled before use. A few drops of vitamin E oil slows own oxidation of the oil, cap lightly. Label jar and store in a cool, dark place.
Lavender and rose salve.
1 cup of lavender rose oil
1-2 oz wax (beeswax, organic soy, jojoba wax)
Place infused oil over low heat. grate or sprinkle wax pellets over the oil and heat very, very gently until melted then turn off.
To ensure the salve will be the right consistency, place a spin into the wax and oil mix and place the spoon in fridge and see if the salve forms in a few minutes. If its too soft add a little more wax and if its too hard add a little more oil.
Add a few drops of vitamin E oil and ten pour into small containers (I use small tin containers for herbalism. Let it cool, cover with lid and label.
Use on pulse points and close eyes and revisit your set intentions.
